We would like to formally invite you to a Farm Bill listening session on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2pm at Freeport High School which is located at 20 Holbrook Street in Freeport, Maine. Congresswoman Pingree, Chairman Thompson and other members of the House Agriculture Committee will have the opportunity to hear from Mainers about the issues that matter to you the in the Farm Bill.
Please use the RSVP link HERE and copied below, which allows attendees to request to speak. There will also be blank comment cards folks can fill out day-of. We will try to accommodate as many comments as possible but want to flag that we cannot guarantee speaking time for everyone. If anyone is unable to speak, you can email Congresswoman Pingree’s office your comments and we will make sure they get to the right folks on the Committee.
The Farm Bill covers everything from nutrition access to support for local farmers markets to markets for forest products to resources for organic and conventional producers. Attendees can find more information about what’s in a Farm bill here. You can also visit the Congresswoman’s website here to learn about her Farm Bill priorities. Attendees can share information about their farm operation or organization, USDA programs that you participate in, and ideas for the Farm Bill that could benefit Mainers. You will have 2 minutes max to provide remarks so that we can accommodate as many folks as possible.
We appreciate the invaluable work you do in Maine.
