Certifying Hemp

With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp is no longer a controlled substance and is now a legal agricultural crop in the United States. To apply for certification under the USDA National Organic Program, please refer to this page to view and download the required application materials. We recommend getting an early start on your crop application. The sooner we receive your application the earlier we can inspect and certify. This year’s deadline for new applicants is June 1, 2021.

In addition to the crops application, new applicants are required to submit the Hemp Supplement and Hemp Compliance Affidavit, below. Please read over these documents carefully. New applicants must complete the hemp supplement and compliance affidavit and return them with the rest of their application materials. For currently certified producers, please return the Hemp Supplement and Compliance Affidavit forms with your annual OSP update.
