Organic Growers Meetings

Wednesday, Feb. 29, in Freeport

Does your farm have additional capacity? Are you interested in new markets? Federal and State food safety legislation and rules are affecting how farmers grow, harvest, process, package and market their products. A pro-active approach to Farm Food Safety can help you gain access to new markets like hospitals, institutions, and value-added producers.

Join the staff of MOFGA’s Agricultural Services and Certification programs for a daylong workshop on Farm Food Safety, Crop Insurance, Technical Assistance, Marketing and Organic Certification. MOFGA wants your feedback on how to improve the services it offers organic producers throughout the state.

Each meeting will run from 9 AM until 3 PM – lunch will be provided. All farmers are welcome!
Five opportunities to attend:
February 15—Common Ground Education Center, Unity ME
February 29—Royal River Natural Foods, Freeport ME
March 14—Ellsworth City Hall, Ellsworth ME
March 28—The Crow’s Nest Restaurant, Presque Isle
April 11—West Farmington Grange, Farmington
